Accidental damages are covered in the Apple Care + protection plan. However, there is a fixed deductible depending on the damage done and the device. Yes, both are different in terms of the features they offer. Apple Care is the standard warranty on Apple Products, whereas, Apple Care+ covers accident damage as well as theft of the device. Opinion: Should You Go For Apple Care?
Well, this depends on how you use your product. If you are prone to using your device roughly and have been involved in accidental damages or theft of the device, then you should go on buying the protection plan. The plan will prevent you from spending heft charges charged on the damages done. Apple services can be costly if you are not covered under Apple Care +, and it is much preferred to go for the Apple Care+ in case you frequently drop your phone or if it gets stolen or damaged. However, if you plan on using devices for not more than a year, then getting the protection plan doesn’t make any sense. For devices like Macbooks, which one tends to use for more than a year, the Apple Care protection plan is highly preferable.
